Annual Charity Sports Dinner

On Friday the 19th March 2010 at the Greenmeadow Golf & Country Club Cwmbran the Mayor of Torfaen in Conjunction with the Welsh Charitables RFC are holding their Annual Charity Sports Dinner and this year the Guest speaker is The BBC Scrum V Presenter Rick O'Shea.

He will be joined on the night by former Wales & British Lion Internationals Greats the likes of David Watkins, Bryn Meredith, Stuart Watkins, Keith Jarrett, Arthur Lewis, Dai Morris, Terry Cobner, Charlie Faulkner, Adrian Hadley, John Perkins, Nigel Meek, Richard Smith, Richard Goodey and Dai Parker the Neath Great to name but a few, they will also be taking part in a Question and Answer session after the main speaker, so a great night should be had by all.

Hon Secretary of the Welsh Charitables RFC David Power said "You have got to give it to these former greats of the game who over the years have not only brought pleasure to thousands throughout the rugby world, they've also supported the Mayor of Torfaen and the Welsh Charitables RFC by attending many of our functions and putting something back into the game. By doing so it enabled us to raise a lot of money for our supported charities". He went on to say "It is indeed a privilege to know some of these greats personally and to have such an attendance of Former Greats will enhance the evening's proceedings".

In all, no fewer than 8 Charities will benefit, they are namely, Breast Cancer Wales, British Heart Foundation, PROGRESS Prostate Cancer, St Anne's Hospice,  WREX (Welsh Rugby Former  International Players Benevolent Association) Ty Hafan the family hospice for young lives, The Princes Trust Cymru and St David's Foundation Hospice Care, I am sure you will agree these are worthwhile causes.
