WELSH CHARITABLES RFC HAVE THEIR OWN TRIPLE CROWN

The Welsh Charitables RFC have finished the year on a tremendous high not only have they presented cheques totalling £25,000 to their nominated charities namely, St Anne's Hospice, WREX (Welsh Rugby Former International Players Benevolent Association) Ty Hafan the family hospice for young lives, The Princes Trust Cymru and St David's Foundation Hospice Care, They have also announced their new President, their new Ambassador and next year's recipient of their annual Tribute Dinner.

Next year is the Welsh Charitables RFC 10th Anniversary and to kick off the celebrations they have announced that the Managing Director of Castell Howell Foods of Cross Hands Brian Jones is to be their new President, the present Cardiff Blues, Wales & British Lions Back Row Forward Andy Powell from Brecon who played so well for the Barbarians in their win against the New Zealand All Blacks on Saturday is to be their new Ambassador and the former Newbridge, London Welsh, Barbarian, Wales & British Lions Centre and Captain John Dawes will be the next recipient of their Annual Tribute Dinner

David Power Hon Secretary of the Welsh Charitables RFC said "We have our own Triple Crown with these guys onboard to help us celebrate our 10th Anniversary next year and are looking forward to an exciting year ahead".

He went on to say "To have the business expertise of Brian Jones onboard as our President who coincidently sponsored our successful Tribute Dinner to JPR Williams at Llangoed Hall Brecon back in November, along with Andy Powell one of our present day players getting involved and putting something back into the game by becoming our Ambassador and then having the Legendary John Dawes who was the first and so far the only Captain to have lead the British Lions to a series victory over the All Blacks in 1971 and Captain the Barbarians in that epic and most thrilling win again over the All Blacks in 1973 to be our next Tribute Dinner recipient is a dream come true and it shows that the Welsh Charitables RFC have gone for a regional approach with selection and we're hoping the people of Wales continue supporting us in our fund raising events".

The Welsh Charitables RFC are also looking for sponsors for their numerous events during their 10th Anniversary Celebrations coming up next year any companies or individuals interested in sponsoring any of our Charity events are asked to contact David Power Hon Secretary on 01633 864938.
