WELSH CHARITABLES RFC CELEBRITY GOLF CLASSIC
O2 & EDEN PARK SUPPORT THE WELSH CHARITABLES RFC CELEBRITY GOLF CLASSIC AGAIN
O2 are showing their support of the Welsh Charitables RFC by sponsoring their Celebrity Golf Classic for a second year. Also supporting the event again are clothes store Eden Park and all four of Wales' Rugby regions.
The event, which includes an 18 hole competition on the Wales National Course, a three course dinner with drinks reception, entertainment, and charity auction is taking place on Tuesday 11 September at the Welsh team's training base, the Vale Hotel Golf and Spa Resort.
This year's event will be particularly special with the event taking place the same week that Wales play Australia in the Rugby World Cup in Cardiff. In the build up to the big match, the excitement and anticipation will be at an all time high and this is sure to be replicated during this golf event.
It will be a great opportunity for companies in Wales to entertain valued clients, to network with top executives from businesses in the area as well as meet with some of rugby's greatest players both past and present. Last year teams were able to play alongside greats such as Ieuan Evans, Neil Jenkins, Dai Watkins, Gareth Baber, Vernon Cooper, Matthew J Watkins, John Devereux and Ike Stephens as well as cricket favourite Robert Croft.
Each team of three will be joined by a celebrity. Entry is limited to 20 teams and places will available on a first come first served basis. Teams interested in entering should contact Louise Brown at Team Frith on 0870 850 3436 as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
David Power, secretary of the Welsh Charitables RFC, said: 'The support of O2, Eden Park and the regions is superb as well as the backing of companies such as the Vale and Team Frith. This support shows what a prestigious event our Celebrity Golf Day has become.'
'By entering a team, companies will be helping us to raise money for our "We want a million" appeal while at the same time having a memorable and enjoyable day.'
'Every team will be joined by a celebrity star who will play a round of golf with them. After the golf everyone can relax and enjoy a gala dinner and charity auction.'
The Welsh Charitables RFC aims to raise £1 million to set up a trust fund. It supports a number of worthy charities namely, St Anne's Hospice, St David's Foundation Hospice Care, Ty Hafan the Children's Hospice in Wales, the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust, a trust for players at all level of the game who get seriously injured whilst playing the sport and the Welsh Rugby International Players Benevolent Association.
